food photography

It's been a bbq fest in our neck of the woods what with the 3-day memorial day weekend. It's no surprise that Instagram and Facebook has been teeming with photos of, you guessed it, FOOD! Everyone seems to be documenting and taking photos of what they're eating. I don't know when this whole photography revolution started, do you? Well, that's not to say I'm not guilty. I'm sure we all are. I just try not to do it when we're out in public because I think it's rude (and silly) but that's just my personal rule. I'm not one to judge.

Ever wonder how we look like doing it? Hilarious! No wonder there's a site dedicated to documenting people taking photos of food!

Happy eating, Bunnies!

my week in photos

I still can't figure out why the days go by so fast and why I can't seem to find the time to sit down and write something. I can't even remember everything that has happened in the last couple of days. Thank goodness for the camera, I am able to document my life in photos. Here are some pics I posted on Instagram, in case you are interested.

Candy necklace from one of the moms in my parenting class. Cute and inexpensive idea for a party giveaway, right?
Appreciation token from my parenting class. Have you ever thought about what kind of mom you want to be? I aspire to be strong, resilient, optimistic, and wise.
One of his current favorite things to do: play grocery grocery.
My favorite color block combination: yellow and blue.

That's what happens when I'm not looking.
I've literally worn out my favorite pair of jeans. Good thing shabby is the new chic. No need to throw it away just yet.
Thank you tokens for Bud's teachers. I love wrapping presents. I find it very therapeutic.
Weekly staples. What's yours?

have a colorful weekend

It's graduation weekend in our household. I still can't believe the school year is over! That's nine months that just whizzed by. Before I know it, I will be sending the little guy off to college then he'll get married and start a family. Gaaah... I'm getting ahead of myself again. Sorry, graduations just tug at my emotional chords and makes me feel very sentimental.

Anyway, when we asked Bud where he wanted to celebrate his graduation, without thinking twice he answered Ihop. So that's where we're taking him today to have a pancake party. What are you plans this weekend? Here are some ideas you might like to try.

Color block and spread some happiness.
Claim your space in the bedroom and create a chic vignette on your bedside table.

summer break

No more classes. No more books. No more teachers. It's officially summer break in our neck of the woods! I'm already looking forward to trips to the splash pad, swimming in the lake, picnic lunches under the trees, free concerts at the park, long runs with the jogging stroller and barbecue dinners.

What are you looking forward to in the next couple of weeks?

happy mother's day weekend

It's Mother's Day weekend! What are your plans? I'm really excited to spend Saturday afternoon with my girlfriends. We're going to have a picnic by the lake. There's a host of other things I would love to do with the family this weekend and here are some of them. Maybe you can try them too.

Get dolled up and eat ice cream while taking a stroll.

Have an evening bike ride the Mister.
If you can't ride outdoors, you can always take a spinning class together.

Have Mother's Day brunch at the local Farmer's Market with my two favorite guys.

tea-riffic mother's day DIY

With Mother's Day just around the corner, I decided to make tokens for some friends and Bud's teachers. Nothing elaborate. Just a simple yet thoughtful teacup card to let them know they are appreciated. Isn't that what really matters?

If you want to try making some for your friends or co-workers, here's what you'll need:
1. sheets of printed card stock or scrap booking paper 2. tea-cup template 3. pencil 4. glue 5. cutter 6. string 7. scissors
Step#1 Fold your paper in half. Using the template, draw the teacup at the top of the paper with the cup handle touching the fold.  If you are using a 12in x 12in sheet of paper, you can make 3 teacups with one sheet.

Step #2 With a cutter, cut out the teacups. Glue the sides and leave the top open so you have a pocket for the tea bags.

Step #3 Using your extra paper, cut out small pieces for your gift tag. Tie the tag around your teacup handle with a string.
Happy DIY-ing, Bunnies!

note to self

thisisnthappiness

Everyday we have children to discipline, deadlines to meet, bills to pay and houses to keep in order. At the end of each day it's always nice to have a few minutes of laughs with our loved ones. Say it out loud, "you make me happy"! Wouldn't that be wonderful to hear?

 Live, love and laugh, Bunnies!
